Our “Store”
We are open for business between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, Monday through Friday.
We do not operate a “brick-and-mortar” store, so we have no showroom and no facility for dropping off or picking up repairs or purchases. There are only two of us, which means we’re wicked busy during the day doing repairs and handling all the other tasks associated with our business — and our family and other personal commitments eat up our time outside the work day. We appreciate your understanding.
On the advice of our insurance company, our mailing address is not here on our site.
Our Return Policy
We want you to be pleased — not merely satisfied — with your purchases. To that end, we offer a 10-day examination period. Within that time, you may return any merchandise for a full refund of the purchase price (not including shipping costs). Returned items must be in new condition, with all associated packaging and paperwork included. We cannot accept pens that have been filled or that show damage (including wear marks from capping/uncapping or posting). User-interchangeable gold nib units, so long as they are not damaged, may be exchanged for any products or services we offer, less a $5.00 charge (per nib unit) for cleaning, testing, and packaging for resale. Steel nib units are not returnable or exchangeable.
Pens or nibs that have been customized to your order are not returnable; we will work with you to remedy any problems you have with a customized nib, including additional adjustment of the nib if necessary.
If you are having difficulty with the writing qualities of a “stock” pen (one that was not customized for you), we will work with you to correct the problem; but note that if the remedy requires customization, there will be an additional charge and the pen will be put into Richard’s repair queue.
If your item is defective, we can help you to contact the manufacturer or the manufacturer’s representative directly. We are not authorized to accept returns of defective merchandise.
To avoid confusion and save unnecessary shipping, please contact us before returning any merchandise.

The best and most reliable way to contact us is by electronic mail. By using email, you can retain copies of your communication with us, so that you and we will be “on the same page” about what has transpired, is in process, or is expected. If we are not available, please leave your number and a brief message on our answering machine. We can’t call you back if we don’t know who you are.
