The show begins Thursday, May 29, at the truly deluxe Embassy Suites, and it runs through Sunday, June 1st. Public days are Friday afternoon (starting at 1 p.m), and Saturday, and Sunday. As always with a Terry Mawhorter show, there will be a pizza party on Thursday and the usual excellent auction on Saturday auction. You really shouldn't miss this weekend in Carolina. If you plan to come and haven't ever been to a show before, you might want to read my article on Your First Pen Show: http://www.richardspens.com/?shows=firstshow For more information, visit the show's Web site: http://www.raleighpenshow.com/ Barbara and I will have a droolworthy selection of new pens from Bexley, Edison, Gate City Pen, Namiki and Pilot, Onoto, and Pelikan. I'll be bent over my Dremel, regrinding and tweaking nibs. Bring a pen or two, and share some chatter at my table while I jazz up your writing experience. We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We hope to see you there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** The RichardsPens Schedule for May *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here are the days on which we'll be shipping during May: Saturday, May 3 Wednesday, May 7 Saturday, May 10 Wednesday, May 14 Saturday, May 17 Wednesday, May 21 Saturday, May 24 TUESDAY, May 27 We will close our shop while we're away for the Raleigh Show. Our Web site will still be live, but it will not allow you to buy anything from Wednesday, May 28, through Tuesday, June 3. The shop will reopen on the morning of Wednesday, June 4. This will affect the monthly Pen Show Tray, so please do read the next article. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** The March of Trays Marches into May *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ As we do every month, we've put up a bright shiny new tray of restored pens for your delectation -- if you're quick enough. BUT THERE'S A CATCH. We'll be at the Raleigh show on May 31, and our shop will be closed. We will put the tray on the site Saturday, May 31, as usual -- but you won't be able to buy anything from the tray until 10 p.m., Wednesday, June 4. That's right, you'll have lots of time to drool and to plan your buying strategy before you or anyone else will be able to do the click thing. http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=tray ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Our Spies Have Been Busy at Bexley *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The following link points to a print made from a snip of film our spies sent us from Ohio. They didn't have much time, or permission to photograph, either. This looks like a sharp new Bexley with grooves cut into the cap and barrel. My guess is that we can look for it to be available in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eyes on our Bexley page. http://www.richardspens.com/images/shared/bex_spy_140426.jpg ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Barbara's Attic Comes Through Again with Another All-New Tray! *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ As things hav come and gone in the Attic, Barbara continues to dig up more things we should let go of. This month she's outdone herself with a very interesting tray. http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Broad Strokes *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ At first glance, the Eversharp Skyline seems quite ordinary. It looks like just another lever filler, so it ought to be a cinch to restore. However, some of the construction details in this pen make it rather more difficult than the basic lever filler.. http://www.richardspens.com/?rep=skyline ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Pens That Write Right! *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Unless otherwise requested at the time of sale, I personally tune each new pen or nib at no extra charge before shipment. I fill the pen with Waterman Blue-Black ink and write with it on paper of better than average quality, adjusting as necessary to bring it up to the RichardsPens.com "factory" standard for smoothness and flow. If you order a new pen with a customized nib, I will modify the nib (for an extra charge) and ship the pen immediately instead of putting it into my regular queue. Remember, we are authorized retailers for Bexley, Edison, Gate City Pen, Namiki and Pilot, Onoto, and Pelikan. We don't always have a complete line up on the site, but we can get anything our manufacturers offer -- if you don't see it, just ask! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Follow Us on the Internet with RSS, Facebook, and Twitter *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow us on the Internet by subscribing to our RSS feed.
