We've been here for two days now, and we still have another day to go. So far, it's been a good show, very enjoyable and busy (but with a little time to chat). We have closed our shop while we're away for the Raleigh Show. Our Web site is still live, but it will not allow you to buy anything from now through Tuesday, June 3. The shop will reopen on the morning of Wednesday, June 4. This will affect the monthly Pen Show Tray, so please do read the next article. Here are the days on which we'll be shipping during June: Saturday, June 7 Wednesday, June 11 Saturday, June 14 Wednesday, June 18 Saturday, June 21 Wednesday, June 25 Saturday, June 28 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT THE JUNE TRAY *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We're at the Raleigh show right now, and our shop is closed. I have put the tray on the site tonight, Saturday, May 31, as usual -- but I have to attend the pen auction to find more pens for the tray, so you won't be able to buy anything from the tray until 10 p.m. Eastern Time, Wednesday, June 4, after we've returned to the Nashua Pen Spa. That's right, you'll have lots of time to drool and to plan your buying strategy before you or anyone else will be able to do the click thing. http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=tray ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Our Spies Came Through Last Month at Bexley *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Remember the spy photos I published last month? Well, they were the real thing. The new Bexley pen is called the Stalwart, and it's available now. I had the honor of naming the four colors Bexley chose, so I have a little more interest in seeing this pen do well. And do well it will. It's interestingly tactile, with lateral grooves cut into both barrel and cap. Check it out here: http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=bex+stalwart I particularly like the Oxblood color. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Something Bright and Shiny New from Pilot *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you haven't seen photos of the new metallic Vanishing Point colors from Pilot, you need to hurry right on over to our site and check them out: http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=nam+vp There's plenty of time to pick out just the ones you want, remember, because the shop is closed this weekend. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Sip a Little Cognac from Pelikan *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Some years ago, Pelikan produced an amber M200 demonstrator. It's long gone now, but this month we received a stock of the new Cognac M200 demonstrator. It's golden amber, like a rich Cognac, and it writes as you'd expect a Binderized Pelikan to write. And, like a good Cognac, when it's sold out it's all gone. Get yours before the vintage is just a memory: http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=pel+m200 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** New Stuff in Barbara's Attic! *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ As things hav come and gone in the Attic, Barbara continues to dig up more things we should let go of. This month there are some new and interesting things on the tray, and there some things that aren't on the tray, like tools and a couple of nice displays. Check it all out! http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Broad Strokes *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ When you are repairing a lever-filling pen, you must sometimes remove and replace the lever. In most cases, this is not a difficult task, but there are some techniques that can make it easier. This month's Broad Strokes article will teach you some of those "pro tricks." http://www.richardspens.com/?rep=levers ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Pens That Write Right! *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Unless otherwise requested at the time of sale, I personally tune each new pen or nib at no extra charge before shipment. I fill the pen with Waterman Blue-Black ink and write with it on paper of better than average quality, adjusting as necessary to bring it up to the RichardsPens.com "factory" standard for smoothness and flow. If you order a new pen with a customized nib, I will modify the nib (for an extra charge) and ship the pen immediately instead of putting it into my regular queue. Remember, we are authorized retailers for Bexley, Edison, Gate City Pen, Namiki and Pilot, Onoto, and Pelikan. We don't always have a complete line up on the site, but we can get anything our manufacturers offer -- if you don't see it, just ask! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Follow Us on the Internet with RSS, Facebook, and Twitter *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow us on the Internet by subscribing to our RSS feed.
