Instead, visit the Free Email Newsletter page on our site: http://www.richardspens.com/?info=nibnoise ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** M215 Nib Blowout *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We have an overstock of Pelikan M215 medium nibs. Barbara is blowing them out for $30.00 each in her Attic. She says that for this price I can't tune them as I do with our other nibs, but still... $30.00! Stock up! http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic+blowout_nibs ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** About Those Vanishing Point Nibs *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you've noticed that our selection of Vanishing Point nibs seems to be vanishing, you're right. When these nibs run out, we won't be ordering more. If you want them, get them before they're gone. Remember, unlike the M215 medium nibs, these nibs will be tuned. http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=nibs+vp_std ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** The RichardsPens Schedule for February *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ With no shows for us to go to during February, we'll be here all month. Here are the days on which we'll be shipping during February: Wednesday, February 4 Saturday, February 7 Wednesday, February 11 Saturday, February 14 Wednesday, February 18 Saturday, February 21 Wednesday, February 25 Saturday, February 28 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Marching Toward March *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Although there are no shows for us this month, we will be going to both the Baltimore and the Long Island Shows in March. This year, the Baltimore Pen Show is in a NEW LOCATION, the Doubletree Baltimore BWI Airport Hotel in Linthicum, Maryland, just a spit and a holler from the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). We have already scoped out how to get there, and we'll be st up all three days, beginning Friday, March 6, and running through Sunday, March 8. There are plenty of restaurants close to the hotel with even more in Baltimore itself, and Baltimore is a city known for its good food, so there'd be something here for you even if you didn't care about pens (which, of course, you do). One week later, we'll be at the Long Island Show, where you will find lots of New York-area vintage. Not too big, not too small, the show draws a good crowd of dealers and attendees. Mark your calendar for Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15, on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, Long Island. The show is in the student center. I'll be working on nibs both weekends as I do at every show we attend, and Barbara will be making sure I keep my nose to the grindstone. PLEASE READ OUR "TABLE TALK" FAQ TO LEARN HOW WE OPERATE AT A SHOW: http://www.richardspens.com/?info=shows If you plan to come and haven't ever been to a show before, you might want to read my article on Your First Pen Show: http://www.richardspens.com/?shows=firstshow For more information, visit the shows' Web sites: http://www.baltimorepenshow.com/ http://www.lipenshow.com/ We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We hope to see you there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Our Swan Song? *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ WE REALLY are going to cease retailing pens and accessories in the next few weeks. We're clearing more and more stock, and in the future you can expect to see most of what we have in Barbara's Attic. We still have good stocks of Da Book and most sac sizes, and a few other items. We will not be reordering any of these as they go out of stock. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Not Our Swan Song. We're Not Leaving *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We will continue offering flexible and specialty shaped nibs in the NIBARAMA, so please don't go out and eat worms in the mistaken belief that we've abandoned you. We haven't. If you're a user of flexible nibs, especially, you should note that both Pelikan and JoWo flexies are back in stock on our NIBARAMA page and awaiting your orders. But that's not all. We still have some Pelikan M800 and M1000 nibs that would love to become cursive italics or stubs, or maybe very fine-tipped nibs that you can't get from Pelikan. http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=nibs We'll also continue with our monthly "Pen Show Tray" of restored pens, and Barbara's Attic wil also keep getting more interesting things for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Apropos of the Foregoing Mention of Very Fine Tips *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Today's snail mail brought a letter that I just have to share. It came from a gentleman in Texas. He wrote: "Dear Richard. "I received the Pilot Vanishing Point Waverley 3x fine nib today. "Fantastic! "Thank you for this fine piece of work. This pen with new nib unit is a large improvement over the original stock extra fine. "On a passing note, I saw the piece about you on the National Geographic website. What fun! "Thanks, and Best Regards..." This is why I do what I do. It makes people happy and brings me closer together with them -- with you. And he was right: the Nat Geo thing was great fun! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** The Bexley 2015 Owners Club Pen Is Still Available *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bexley still has stock of the 2015 Owners Club Pen, and the pens are available for sale to everyone. That's you. Me, I particularly like the Pearl Smoke color, but what you like is up to you. Order your pen here: http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic+ownersclub As always, for an additional charge I can customize your pens' nibs to your order. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Addendum About the Bexley Owners Club Pen *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ As a charter member and Knight of Nashua and the Northeastern Realm in the Black Pen Society (https://www.facebook.com/blackpensociety), I love black pens. When Bexley made the 2015 Owners Club Pens, they made me a few black ones. One of those is in my pocket as I write, and the rest are available for sale to you! Quantities are exceedingly limited, however, so you really should hurry! http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic+ocblack ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** From the Attic *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Barbara has moved more interesting things into the Attic this month. Do check it out. Here's a list of the things she's added: A complete new tray of pens A framed pair of advertising blotters featuring the pin-up art of Rolf Armstrong. I designed these blotters in 2002 for Len Provisor, and this set is the original edition, from the first printing. Three sterling silver Victorian magic pencils One Signum 18K nib, Rhodium plated, Broad (loose nib, no housing) Two Aurora Optima/88/Talentum nibs (large size) One BelOMO 20x loupe A small quantity of Pelikan leather pen cases These are in addition to all the following things that have been available for a little while: Accommodation clips Three Parker "21" shells, one with nib Estie 2968 nib unit, late Estie 9048 nib unit Estie 9968 nib unit Estie FINE nib unit Venus F nib unit Classic Pens, Inc. nib units (Andreas Lambrou, not John Mottishaw) Conway Stewart nib units Check all of this stuff out: http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** On the Monthly Pen Show Tray *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We're back on schedule with the Pen Show Tray; it will go up TONIGHT, January 31, at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. There are some truly spectacular pens there for the grabbing, so don't be left out! http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=tray You can go see what's there now, but the tray won't let itself be purchased until 10:00 p.m. Refresh the page to unlock it; if you just sit and wait, it won't ever unlock. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Broad Strokes *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This month's Broad Strokes article is a profile of the WASP Addipoint. At the last minute before publication, a collector friend offered to send me a tray of Addipoints from his collection, in colors I've never seen, so the article's list of colors will be just a little wrong until I receive the pens and photograph them. (There might be other additions or corrections as well, so stay tuned.) http://www.richardspens.com/?prof=addipoint ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Pens That Write Right! *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Unless otherwise requested at the time of sale, I personally tune each new pen or nib at no extra charge before shipment. I test each nib in a pen filled with Waterman Blue-Black ink and write with it on paper of better than average quality, adjusting as necessary to bring it up to the RichardsPens.com "factory" standard for smoothness and flow. If you order a new nib with customization, I will modify the nib (for an extra charge), and we will ship it without any extra delay. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Follow Us on the Internet with RSS, Facebook, and Twitter *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow us on the Internet by subscribing to our RSS feed.
