It's available for download from Apple, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon. But that's old news. The new news is that 366 Days is now available from Amazon as a deluxe 440-page trade paperback designed to look like a book made in the 1940s, and printed on luxurious cream-colored paper. http://www.amazon.com/366-Days-World-War-II/dp/0988407957/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1424739355&sr=1-2&keywords=richard+binder The other good news is that we hope to have copies of 366 Days available for sale at the Baltimore Pen Show and will certainly have them in time for Long Island. Oh, and to celebrate the release of the paperback version of 366 Days, I've reduced the price of the ebook version by almost 15 percent! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** March Has Marched In *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ And because it's March, e will be going to both the Baltimore and the Long Island Shows. This year, the Baltimore Pen Show is in a NEW LOCATION, the Doubletree Baltimore BWI Airport Hotel in Linthicum, Maryland, just a spit and a holler from the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). We are seriously looking forward to seeing what the world looks like without a couple of feet on the ground, and also seeing all the friends who come to visit us at the show. We have already scoped out how to get there, and we'll be set up all three days, beginning Friday, March 6, and running through Sunday, March 8. There are plenty of restaurants close to the hotel with even more in Baltimore itself, and Baltimore is a city known for its good food and some very interesting tourist spots, so there's something there for your family members who don't care about pens. One week later, we'll be at the Long Island Show, where you will find lots of New York-area vintage. Not too big, not too small, the show draws a good crowd of dealers and attendees, and it's getting better every year. Mark your calendar for Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15, on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, Long Island. The show is in the student center. I'll be working on nibs both weekends as I do at every show we attend, and Barbara will be making sure I keep my nose to the grindstone. PLEASE READ OUR "TABLE TALK" FAQ TO LEARN HOW WE OPERATE AT A SHOW: http://www.richardspens.com/?info=shows If you plan to come and haven't ever been to a show before, you might want to read my article on Your First Pen Show: http://www.richardspens.com/?shows=firstshow For more information, visit the shows' Web sites: http://www.baltimorepenshow.com/ http://www.lipenshow.com/ We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We hope to see you there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** The RichardsPens Schedule for March *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Because we have two pen shows this month, shipping days will be a little reduced. Here are the days on which we'll be shipping during February: Wednesday, March 4 Wednesday, March 11 Wednesday, March 18 Saturday, March 21 Wednesday, March 25 Saturday, March 28 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Pen and Accessory Sales *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ All the pens (but not all the nibs) are gone. We still have stocks of Da Book and a few other items. We will not be reordering any of these as they go out of stock. SPECIAL SALE ON DA BOOK We will be bringing all our remaining copies of Da Book to Baltimore (and Long Island, if there are any left after Baltimore). We will be selling Da Book at these shows for $12.00 instead of the usual $20.00 price. This is a 40-percent saving, and so far as we know this is the only time you'll ever see this book discounted, so be sure to come to our table at the Baltimore or Long Island Show. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** A Special Nib for Your Vanishing Point *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We have ONE rhodium-plated Vanishing Point nib that is reground to a 0.6 stub. This nib has a tiny cosmetic oopsie on the top surface, where I let the edge of the wheel touch the plated surface. The resulting mark is about 0.1 by 0.3 mm, very small. If this passes your "I want it anyway" test, the price is $80.00 instead of the $102.00 price we had on these nibs when they were in regular stock. Want it? Email me at richard@richardspens.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** The Bexley 2015 Owners Club Pen Is Still Available *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bexley still has stock of the 2015 Owners Club Pen, and the pens are available for sale to everyone. That's you. Me, I particularly like the Pearl Smoke color, but what you like is up to you. Order your pen here: http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic+ownersclub As always, for an additional charge I can customize your pens' nibs to your order. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Addendum About the Bexley Owners Club Pen *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ As a charter member and Knight of Nashua and the Northeastern Realm in the Black Pen Society (https://www.facebook.com/blackpensociety), I love black pens. When Bexley made the 2015 Owners Club Pens, they made me a few black ones. One of those is in my pocket as I write, and the rest are available for sale to you! There aren't as many as there were w month ago, however, so you really should hurry! http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic+ocblack ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** From the Attic *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Barbara's Attic still holds some great bargain items. Check it out: http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** On the Monthly Pen Show Tray *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We're back on schedule with the Pen Show Tray; it will go up TONIGHT, January 31, at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. There are some truly spectacular pens there for the grabbing, so don't be left out! http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=tray You can go see what's there now, but the tray won't let itself be purchased until 10:00 p.m. Refresh the page to unlock it; if you just sit and wait, it won't ever unlock. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Broad Strokes *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1921 saw the introduction of the John Hancock Cartridge Pen. It wasn't the very first cartridge pen, but it was well conceived and well made, and it sold well enough to keep it maker in business for a decade or longer. Read about it: http://www.richardspens.com/?prof=hancock Last month's Broad Strokes article was a profile of the WASP Addipoint. At the last minute before publication, a collector friend offered to send me a tray of Addipoints from his collection, in colors I'd never seen, so the article's list of colors was just a little lacking. That's been fixed. http://www.richardspens.com/?prof=addipoint ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Pens That Write Right! *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Unless otherwise requested at the time of sale, I personally tune each new nib at no extra charge before shipment. I test the nib in a pen filled with Waterman Mysterious Blue ink and write with it on paper of better than average quality, adjusting as necessary to bring it up to the RichardsPens.com "factory" standard for smoothness and flow. If you order a new nib with customization, I will modify the nib (for an extra charge), and we will ship it without any extra delay. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Follow Us on the Internet with Facebook and Twitter *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We'd like to be liked on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/NashuaPenSpa And you're invited to follow us on Twitter: @RichardsPens ======================================================================== If you received this newsletter from Richard Binder, you are a Nib Noise subscriber.
