I have a vested interest in this exhibit, which is titled "Fellow Soldiers: Letters from World War I," because it includes two pens on loan from my personal collection. It'll be there through the re- mainder of 2017 and most of 2018. I recommend making time to see it. And the rest of the museum; I've been there, and it's quite wonderful! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Tray News and Other Good Stuff *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ As I always try to do, I've put together a delightful Pen Show Tray for April. There's at least one Waterman pen that I'm prepared to wager you've never seen before and are not likely to see again. There are the usual flexies, too, as well as a "51" or three. Much more awaits, so don't hold back! http://www.richardspens.com/?pens=tray I put up a new Attic Tray a few days ago, and it's doing a brisk business. That's not all I put up, but I'll let you visit Barbara's Attic to see what else there is new. http://www.richardspens.com/?acc=attic Hint: There's a blowout sale. Be sure to scroll down to Richard's Nib Shop. You can't miss it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** As You Read This...*** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ...we'll be on Long island, gearing up for the Long Island Pen Show (or actually working there, if it's Saturday already). The Long Island Show is a great place to reel in lots of New York-area vintage. Not too big, not too small, the show draws a good crowd of dealers and attendees, and it's getting better every year. Highly qualified repairers will be in evidence in the persons of Mike Kennedy, Jim Baer, and Ron Zorn. I will be working on nibs, and more than one of my students (who are hardly students anymore!) will also be there. Come on out to Hempstead Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2, and visit the campus of Hofstra University. The show is in the student center. For more information, visit the show's site: http://www.lipenshow.com/ I promise I won't pull any April Fool's pranks on your nibs. No foolin'! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Broad Strokes *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ One of the great things about fountain pens and their history is that there's always more to learn. I've been learning about Eversharp pens this past month, and the result is significant enhancements and additions to my Skyline and Symphony profile pages: http://www.richardspens.com/?prof=skyline http://www.richardspens.com/?prof=symphony Check 'em out and see how much new stuff you can find. Also, sometime this month I will be adding a wonderful pen and the story of its owner to my page on personalized pens. I have the pen, and I've been doing the research and writing the story of John Joseph Durkovitz, it's just not ready yet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Pens That Write Right! *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Unless otherwise requested at the time of sale or unless otherwise noted in Barbara's Attic, I personally tune each new nib we sell at no extra charge before shipment. I test the nib in a pen filled with Waterman Mysterious Blue ink and write with it on paper of better than average quality, adjusting as necessary to bring it up to the RichardsPens.com "factory" standard for smoothness and flow. If you order a new nib from Barbara's Attic with customization (gold nibs only), I'll modify the nib (for an extra charge), and we will ship it without any extra delay. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Follow Us on the Internet with Facebook and Twitter *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We'd like to be liked on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/NashuaPenSpa And you're invited to follow our occasional tweets on Twitter: @RichardsPens ======================================================================== If you received this newsletter from Richard Binder, you are a Nib Noise subscriber.
