We specialize in repairing, tuning, and modifying nibs on all brands of pens. |
Handcrafted Specialty Nibs: We have a wide array of Richard’s specialty nibs: needlepoints, italics, and other “interesting” shapes for most Pelikan Souverän and Tradition pens and for the Pilot Vanishing Point.
|
We restore fountain pens that are damaged as well as those that are merely worn and tired. We work on all brands, vintage and modern, and we are a Sheaffer’s Authorized Repair Center for vintage fountain pens.
|
||
As we work on clients’ pens, we also restore a few pens that we have purchased and offer them for sale in our monthly “Pen Show Tray.” Most of these are vintage pens, but there’s sometimes a modern in there, too.
We also buy restorable vintage pens for resale. |
We have a small stock of Renew-Point nibs. Most are New Old Stock (NOS); we test and adjust those that are not NOS to be sure they are in working order.
We do not have any Renew-Point nibs except the ones we list, but our stock does change as we discover new supplies, so it makes sense to check back from time to time. |
Accessories and Books
To enhance the pleasure of your pens, we offer a few related items; and in our Reader’s Corner we list suggestions for your reading pleasure.
Featured in At the end of each Extra Fine Points article Don Fluckinger offers ideas for further reading. |
At heart, we are a family business — but things have grown so much that we’ve adopted a few unrelated people into the RichardsPens.com family.
Part of family is sharing each other’s concerns. One of the things we share with our daughter Kate is her love for greyhounds. Retired racing greyhounds make wonderful pets; owners refer lovingly to them as “45-MPH couch potatoes.” If you love dogs, consider helping Greyhound Placement Service of New Hampshire (or an adoption agency in your area).
Clients’ Comments and Art GalleryAmong the nicest things we receive from our clients are notes of thanks. On our Clients’ Comments page you will find some of the email messages we’ve received about our work. Sometimes these notes are accompanied by, or are themselves, lovely works of art. You will find some of our clients’ artwork on our Art Gallery page.
Over the next year, I will be regrinding nibs and diagnosing nib ailments for walk-up clients at the shows listed below. (The yellow highlight marks the next upcoming show.) Barbara will manage the sales end of our table and keep track of whose pens I’ll be working on. Look for our banner (shown to the right) on the wall over our table. We hope to see you there!
Please read our “Table Talk” FAQ to learn how we operate at a show.
If you have pens that need other work, bring them along with you — we’ll be happy to give them a free ride to the Nashua Pen Spa.
